Taking responsibility for a group's value system whereby a variety of services and materials are being "worth" a realistic exchange price, might involve something different than our current monetary system. A "fair" value might have to reflect a fairness towards the giver as well towards the receiver, confined by time, place and circumstances of the exchange. It may also mean that a true value can only be established within a given community and within a given time framework and that we need to let go of the concept of "absolute" value.
Can we work out a system in which people can exchange things that reflect both needs? Is one single evaluation system all that is required or do we need more than one? What is needed in order for human beings not to become slaves of such a valuation system - work in oredr to live, or live to work?
